How to have a Monochrome Wedding

Go against the grain and plan a wedding with as little color as possible.

What is monochrome?

Monochrome is a noun that is defined by Dictionary.com as:

1. A painting or drawing in different shades of a single color.

2. The art or technique of producing such a painting or drawing.

3.The state or condition of being painted, decorated, etc.in shades of a single color.

How can you throw a monochrome wedding?

Instead of choosing two or three complementary or contrasting colors to complete your wedding palette, you can opt to go with one shade and simply use varying shades of it.

Why should you throw a monochrome wedding?

This color scheme is perfect for couples who don’t really want to deal with too many tints. Done correctly, it gives off a more elegant, classic vibe. Plus, it will look good in photos and videos in the years to come.

What are some examples of a monochrome wedding?

From your bridesmaids’ dresses to the dessert table setting, here are some examples of monochromatic setups you can pull off throughout the entire ceremony.

1. Send your save-the-date cards or actual invitations using a set of muted but beautiful cream tones.

2. Go with a wedding bouquet in a lovely shade of periwinkle blue.

3. A cheery yellow shade brightens up any event. Make your bridesmaids wear the same or similar yellow tints so they radiate happiness on your behalf.

4. Bring the ocean to your table setup with predominantly blue decors and cutlery.

5. If you’re a fan of rustic setups, this mostly brown photo booth might work for your monochromatic wedding.

6. Though it’s uncommon in the Philippines, you can have an all-white wedding with your bridesmaids wearing white lace dresses. Just make sure the length and design are different from your dress so guests don’t accidentally mistake them as the bride-to-be.

7. Are you big fans of the color violet? Use it for your table runners, chair sashes, and ornamental plants.

8. This pink cake is topped with light pink flowers and a lovely white embellished bow. Definitely oozing with sweetness!

9. No doubt, people can guess your color motif just by looking at this delectable selection.

10. Various tints and tones can show how versatile one color can be. Gray can be a good choice for your wedding!
