One of the important factors on making your wedding perfect and organized is to have a seating arrangement because one, your guests would like to know where they’re sitting, and two, you wouldn’t want to worry about it on the day of your wedding. So here are a few tips on how to plan a seating arrangement for your guests at your wedding reception:
Time is of the essence.
Although you may think that this is just a simple task, it’s important to spend time working on this at least a few days or weeks before your wedding so you won’t need to worry about it later on. Besides, this may only take you a few hours to do and then you can just go back and check it time after time.
Hit the keys.
Open a spreadsheet and make a list. When listing names of family members and friends to invite on your wedding reception, you need to be careful on whom to invite. When you headcount, make sure that the number of your guests fit your budget for food. You wouldn’t want to spend your money on expenses that are beyond your means.
Put pen to paper.
One of the easiest ways to organize the tables on your wedding reception is to illustrate them on paper. Once you’ve figured the layout of the tables, you can now arrange which tables to place your guests.
When it comes to you and your partner’s parents, it’s totally up to you if you’re gonna place them in one or separate tables. Either way, make sure that both parties are comfortable with whatever arrangement you’ll come up with.
With your family members, there may be some who just don’t get along. Make sure to take note of that before assigning them their tables.
When it comes to your friends, it’s not as tricky because you can try and mix them up with other groups of friends so they can get to know each other. You can even play as the match-maker. Who knows? It could be a start to another beautiful love story!
