Prenup pictorials have become a necessary part of wedding preparations. It gives the engaged couple another chance to bond. It also gives them a feel of what will happen on their big day on a smaller scale. If you’re still in the planning stages, make sure to keep these tips in mind. Look for prenup pegs

From the theme to the props to hair and makeup looks to the couple poses, it’s always a good idea to look around and see what you’d like to try for your pictorial. Save the images in your phone or print them out to show your partner, then once you’ve decided on the little details, you can present these to your suppliers as well.

Come up with a fun theme

It will be easier for you to whip up ideas once you pick a theme for your shoot. Think of your favorite hobbies as a couple and take it from there. It doesn’t have to be anything grand or complex—just make sure the theme will showcase your personalities and what you love most.

Prepare your props and outfits beforehand

Once you’ve decided on your theme, the rest will follow. If you go with a travel theme, you can look for a set of vintage luggage, a standing globe, maps, binoculars, and paper planes to use as props you can play with. You don’t have to pay for these items—just ask your family and friends if you can borrow them at least one week before your shoot.

For your outfits, you can use existing clothes from your wardrobe, but make sure they are photogenic (no huge tears or stains, please!). Make sure your outfits complement each other through the colors, textures, or prints. Remember, they don’t have to be too matchy-matchy. You can also opt to buy new clothes or hire a stylist to pick clothes for you. Just remember these are added costs that might be unnecessary for some couples.

Dare to try different looks

For the bride-to-be, don’t be afraid to stray from the fresh, no-makeup makeup look. For every layout you do, you can ask your makeup artist to build on your basic wedding makeup. Add a rosy flush to your cheeks, winged eyeliner to enhance your eyes, or even a cherry red lippie to make your lips pop. For the groom-to-be, don’t be afraid to have pressed powder or concealer applied on your face. It will do wonders in photographs!

Pick a location you will be comfortable in

Indoor or outdoor, at home or in a studio, in or outside the Philippines—there are so many locations to choose from! A prenup pictorial set by the beach or the mountains will indeed make the photos look extra special, but in reality, people who see the pictures will just focus on the couple and how happy they look.

Bond with your suppliers

This is the perfect opportunity to check whether you’ve made the right decision about your photographer, videographer, makeup artist, and hairstylist. The way they relate to you will show how easy or difficult it will be to work with them on your big day. If things don’t work out, you still have the option of changing a supplier as long as you have enough time to find a replacement.
