You’ve done it all – from the Christmas-y Pirates of the Caribbean to luau to dress up Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. So, this year you want the theme to be unique as possible. Just make sure you can find Philippine caterer that are willing to work with your chosen theme.

1) A CHRISTMAS STORY

The party theme takes inspiration from the 1989 film about 9-year old Ralphie Parker, who wants a Red Ryder BB gun for a Christmas present. The movie, which was set in 1940s, is one of the most well-loved Holiday movies of all time. This theme is for the traditional-loving office.

For your party, you can center the celebration on holiday traditions in 1940s, 1980s or from 1940s to 1980s. For example, you can put traditional evergreen décors and life-sized leg lamps that are perfect for picture-taking. Conduct activities such as shoot-the-balloon and hand winners with themed prizes like decoder pins, soaps, mini leg lamps and other prizes that represent the movie.

For the menu, you can choose to feature Parkers’ favorite Holiday treats such as turkey and duck. You can also ask the caterer to serve appetizers with potatoes and desserts with cranberries. For drinks, the caterer may serve bottled Cokes or milkshakes and root beer floats. Some of the most popular sweets in the 1940s are Almond Joys and Bazooka Bubble Gum.

2)  NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

This party theme can take ideas from the Halloween Town, Christmas Town, or both. It is like celebrating Halloween during the Holidays, giving any office party a completely different look and feel. Let’s say this party is more on the gothic side.

Odd décors will do in creating a Goth atmosphere. Some examples are brass candelabras, oblong armchairs, gangly iron bars, etc. While facilitating Nightmare-inspired games, have the DJ played songs from the movie as well as other gothic rock tracks. Have the entire office dress like Jack Skellington, Sally, Doctor Finklestein, Oogie Boogie, etc.

Have the caterer serve old English cuisine such as salads, soups, vegetables, and roasted poultry. A buffet will be more appropriate for this celebration.

3) WILLY WONKA/CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

The movies are the 1971 and 2005 adaptation of the book entitled Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The story revolves around lucky children who got to tour the factory by obtaining a golden ticket. Knowingly, this holiday soiree will be pure fun.

Candies and chocolates can double as décors. Table centerpieces, for instance, can be tall vases filled with sweet treats. The Christmas tree can be decorated with all-edible candy bars as well as other chocolate goodies.

Carnival games played on parties and fun fairs will be highly appreciated. For prizes and favors, make sure that everyone can take home personalized treats in a Wonka-inspired goodie bag.

Aside from the candies and chocolates, serve various entrées made from or sprinkled with sweet sauce. So, anything with a kick of sweetness will be perfect to complement the theme.

4) WHITE CHRISTMAS

This theme draws inspiration from the old-fashioned Holiday setting that is, ‘white everything.’ As such, décors must be all white (or off-white and silver as an accent color) from linens to chairs to dinnerware. There should be white Christmas trees and snowflakes. Silver-wrapped presents can be placed under the trees, for instance, to turn the venue into a Winter Wonderland.

Entertainment is the easiest since you can simply play classic Christmas songs. For the games and activities, the white could be the prizes.

While White Christmas is the theme, you need not limit the menu with all-white food items. This is nearly impossible. Light colored foods will do the trick. After all, the entire office will be wearing white, might as well avoid red-sauced menu options. Drinks can be white, too. White ale, white lady (cocktail), eggnog, and white cosmopolitan.

5) CIRCUS

A circus-themed celebration is often entertaining and dazzling. Nonetheless, ‘all the fun of the fair’ is all about the visual effects and overall ambience.

Proper decorative elements such as long draperies in bright red should be evident to support the theme. There can be funny mirrors, hook-a-duck, throwing games, pitching pennies, etc.

Nonetheless, what will make the party truly a Cirque du Soleil-inspired celebration is the entertainment. As much as possible, there should be a ringmaster, jugglers, fire breathers, stilt walkers and acrobat performers.

Food stations such as cotton candy and popcorn must be scattered throughout the venue. Finger foods should be served as well. Fruity cocktails should be free flowing.

6) MASQUERADE BALL

This theme is suitable for those who fancy extravagant holiday celebrations. Masquerade props such as decorative masks complete with feathers and luxurious drapery are a must. Purple and Gold will be the colors of the day.

Amidst the glittering sight of candelabras and chandeliers, a jazz band can almost always complete a masquerade-themed party. Other forms of entertainment are magicians, comedians and dancers. Expect music from Phantom of the Opera.

Appetizers such as light finger foods and passed hors d’oeuvres are the ideal menu for the party. Whatever menu options you choose to serve the party-goers, make sure that they are not sitting down the entire night or hovering at the buffet table.

Champagne cocktails must be served earlier to set the mood. Afterwards, let them go to the bar your caterer had setup for the party.

Furthermore, there are other corporate Christmas party themes that you may consider. Some examples are:

    • Victorian Christmas
    • Diamond Ball
    • Burlesque
    • Fire and Ice
    • Heroes and Villains
    • Medieval Banquet
    • 1920s Gatsby
    • Rio Carnival
    • Treasure Island
    • Caribbean Christmas

Choosing a party theme for your annual Holiday celebration is just the start of the fun. Merry-making always mean considering what the people and how the Christmas party should be celebrated. This never meant to abandon the thoughts of consulting with them. You might know it, but they often have the most outrageous ideas about Holiday themes. Again, whichever you choose, enjoy!
